About Our Youth Workshop

Our free workshops for youths aged 9 – 21 with cerebral palsy or other complex disabilities combines teamwork, art, and an unique story making process to help support participants in letting their inner artist shine! Our workshops allow youths to connect with other participants and to be mentored by our Leadership Team. The Leadership Team is a trained group of community members with cerebral palsy who teach and share their experiences with young AAC users. The workshops encourage participants to utilize fabric and drama to create stories and to build confidence. We welcome all to join us!

Mentorship

The leadership team will offer mentorship to the young newcomers. The leaders are AAC users themselves, so they will work with the youth throughout the workshops.

Community Building

The workshops will be a communal event, where youth will connect with Imagining Possibilities staff and other AAC users. The workshop is designed to encourage all participants to be a part of the story.

Development

The youths will have the opportunities to take up a leadership roles, and develop their skills. Everyone will work together to plan, practice, and execute a story. The story will be showcased in our Come to the Edge performance Show
